Joey, Gus slam ‘disgusting’ call in Panthers win

Andrew Johns and Phil Gould were left fuming at a no try call during the Panthers’ win over South Sydney, with the former describing it as “disgusting”.
In the 33rd minute, Panthers winger Brian To’o was awarded a try after stepping through the defence.
However, after it was awarded Johns spotted Siliva Havili going down in the lead up after colliding with Liam Martin.

Johns said “he was never going to get there” and claimed he was “trying to milk a penalty”.
The Bunker then disallowed the try after a replay.
“That is just absolutely ridiculous,” Johns said.
“Way too pedantic, we’ve got to tidy all this up before finals come around,” Gould added.
“He just deliberately runs in to him, he doesn’t even try.”
Johns continued to vent his frustration.
“That is embarrassing, you are awarding an effort like this, disgusting, it’s terrible.”
Penrith started the match on fire, breaking out to an 18-0 lead after 24 minutes with tries to James Fisher-Harris, Luke Garner and Brad Schneider.
The Rabbitohs hit back in the 33rd minute when Tyrone Munro scored with the Panthers leading 18-6 at the break.

After half-time, the Panthers started with a double to Sunia Turuva inside five minutes.
Moments later though, Munro scored his second of the night after a 90m intercept try. It was a brave performance from the winger after he lost his mother and uncle during the week.
In the 68th minute, Souths lost Keaon Koloamatangi to the sin bin for a professional foul.
The Panthers made the most of a one-man advantage with Isaah Yeo scoring two minutes later to seal the 34-12 win.
